A&S Hive has been working with UK’s Teaching Learning and Academic Innovation group on ways we can increase our summer courses' accessibility through captioning. For this pilot, we will be focusing on courses taught in English. Captions for Livestream Videos For courses that will be conducted with Livestream videos, TLAI recommends Live Captioning with Google Slides for immediate captions in real-time. Activating Captioning in Zoom for captions that will be available after the Zoom meeting ends. Captions for New Pre-recorded Videos When creating new Pre-recorded videos for your class, please use YuJa, or if you have a preferred tool like Camtasia, please upload your completed videos to YuJa for hosting. We have created some tutorials and videos to help get you started: How to use Yuja in Canvas Recording Narrated Powerpoint with YuJa Add Video to Canvas module You can view our full list of YuJa tutorials here. Once you have your course videos in YuJa, publish them to the Captioning Requests -> Unassigned folder. Captions for Existing Pre-Recorded Videos If you have existing Pre-recorded videos, we would like them to be moved into YuJa for captioning. In most cases that will mean downloading videos from their current location and uploading them to YuJa. We can assist with this process. If you have your video content in YouTube and would prefer to leave it there, the TLAI group is prepared to assist you with cleaning up your captions. They are working on a form specifically for YouTube content, and we will link it here shortly. If your Youtube videos only require minor edits and you would like you correct them yourself or have a TA assist you, please see:
