Akuetey M. Foligan

Education:
After completing my Senior Secondary School Certificate Exam (SSSCE) in 2005, I enrolled in the Nursing Training College in 2007, where I studied General Nursing for a year. My studies were interrupted in 2008 when I was admitted to the University of Ghana, Legon (UG) to pursue a BA in French and Information Studies. During my third year, I spent a year abroad in Benin, immersing myself in French and Francophone cultures, and earned my DALF-C2 (Diplôme Approfondi de la Langue Française, Niveau 2). Upon returning from Benin in 2012, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Information Studies in 2013.

For my National Service, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in the French Department at Methodist University College Ghana, Dansoman (MUCG). Due to the high unemployment rate in the country, it took me four years to find a suitable job. During this period, I taught French at several private preparatory schools.

From 2018 to 2023, I served as a French instructor at Kinbu Senior High Technical School, where my responsibilities included preparing lesson notes, teaching French classes, setting mid-term and final exams, and grading students' scripts.

Since August 2023, I have been pursuing a master's degree in French and Francophone Studies at the University of Kentucky, where I also work as a French Teaching Assistant in the Modern and Classical Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (MCLLC) department.
