Representations of Lesbians and Mothers in Literature: Catherine Brereton

Catherine Brereton's recent research was featured in a poster session at the Lexington Farmer's Market in mid-September 2011. Her work focuses on representations of lesbians, mothers, and lesbians as mothers in literature. The poster session was presented by the Chellgren Center, the Office of Undergraduate Research, and the Society for the Promotion of Undergraduate Research. Brereton was mentored by professor Susan Bordo

She's Hip to the Zine

Cheyenne Hohman is a graduate student in Library & Information Science at UK and is a podcasting coordinator for the College of A&S. We turned the tables on her to find out about her recent endeavors that included an internship at the Library of Congress and a Zine Writer's Residency in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Internship at the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Families: Corinne Price

Corrine Price, an undergraduate senior, worked as an intern at the Saartijie Baartman Centre for Women and Children, a domestic violence shelter in Cape Town, South Africa. The trip was sponsored by the University of Kentucky and was in conjunction with the Kentucky and South Africa Initiative: "Different Lands, Common Ground."

A&S Ambassador: Cameron Hamilton

Cameron Hamilton, an undergraduate student in the Department of Biology, serves as an A&S Ambassador and as a K Crew Coordinator for UK's K Week for incoming students. Hamilton discusses new initiatives that the K Crew Coordinators are working on as well as the personal and professional benefits of being a K Crew Coordinator and A&S Ambassador.
