In 2013, a group of Chemistry Department faculty, students and alumni met to discuss reviving the department's newsletter, and an outgrowth of that effort to re-establish communications among current and future alumni was the Chemistry Alumni Board (CAB) which held its organizational meeting on Saturday, October 11, 2014.

Geography graduate student Malene Jacobsen is no stranger to travel for her research. While she is a student at UK and spends most of her time in Lexington, Jacobsen’s work on political asylum and migration requires her to move between Europe and the United States as she collects data for her degree.
The Honorable Albert B. Chandler III (Ben Chandler) received his B.A. in history in 1983 and his J.D. in 1986. He was elected Kentucky Attorney General in 1995 and served as the United States Representative for Kentucky's 6th congressional district from 2004 to 2013. A long-time supporter of arts and humanities at the state and national level, he is now executive director the Kentucky Humanities Council.
A&S will induct new members into its Hall of Fame Oct. 11, 2013, to join the ranks of the current 32 alumni and 8 emeritus faculty A&S Hall of Fame members.
Terry O’Hare, who finished his time at UK with a degree in BS in Geology in 1980, has gone on to start his own company. At the Field Camp Reunion in 2013, he told us about his experiences at UK and at Field Camp, his thoughts on how to succeed with a degree in Geology, and how things have changed since he graduated.
