Social vs Nonsocial contextual cues

Hey there! My name is Bree and I am a 2nd year PhD student in the Experimental Psychology Cognitive Neuroscience PhD program working with Dr. Michael Bardo looking at the role of social behaviors and cocaine use disorder. My research in the Bardo lab is focusing on cocaine use and the renewal paradigm using social and nonsocial contextual cues. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how social peers play a role in cocaine use/relapse in male and female rats as well as trying to further our understanding of the neural mechanisms involved with these behaviors. From this research I am trying to help further improve the understanding of social peers and drug taking as well as have translational preclinical data that is related to human drug taking behaviors.
