Bio and Research Interests

Alessandra Del Brocco is a fifth year, ABD PhD candidate in the sociology department at the University of Kentucky. She is currently studying how LGBTQIA+ farmers participate in sustainable agriculture and alternative economies. By working with minority groups in agriculture, she hopes to shed light on existing and potential future pathways towards more equal food access for all.

Services to the College 

Alessandra has served as the vice president of the sociology department Graduate Student Organization, as well as a chair on the department's social media committee. In years one to three, she also served as the graduate student representative on the diversity equity, and inclusion committee; the Undergraduate Representative on the department's Graduate Student Organization; and participated in the 2019 Senior Practicum in Community and Leadership Development as a poster judge. She was a mentor to the University of Kentucky's women's rugby club for the 2019 season.
